1С/BAS ↔ Viber integration

Your Viber bot tells clients their order status and debt from 1С/BAS, takes reorders, and reminds about unpaid invoices

Many clients in Ukraine live in Viber: they write there, they read there, they ignore email. The accounting lives in 1С/BAS, and the manager carries answers between the two by hand: «is it shipped», «how much do I owe», «send the invoice again». The 1С/BAS ↔ Viber pair connects your Viber bot to 1С/BAS: a subscribed client gets the order status and the tracking number the moment it changes, sees their balance, repeats a past order with one button and gets a reminder about an invoice that is due. Below: what exactly moves, which scenarios we cover and which capabilities of both systems we rely on.

What moves between the systems

  • 1С/BAS → ViberWhen the order status changes in 1С/BAS («assembled», «shipped», «tracking number»), the bot sends the subscribed client a message the same minute.
  • 1С/BAS → ViberA client presses «my balance» and gets the current debt and the list of unpaid invoices from 1С/BAS, with the invoice file attached.
  • 1С/BAS → ViberA few days before an invoice is due, 1С/BAS tells the bot, and the client receives a reminder with the amount and the invoice; after the payment is posted, the bot confirms it.
  • Viber → 1С/BASA client presses «repeat last order» or picks items from the keyboard, and the order is created in 1С/BAS as a customer order for their counterparty.
  • Viber → 1С/BASA new subscriber who confirms their phone is matched to a counterparty in 1С/BAS, so from then on the bot knows whose orders and balance to show.
  • Viber → 1С/BASA client's message the bot cannot handle is written to their counterparty in 1С/BAS as a request, and the manager on duty gets it with the client's name and last order.

What we connect

  • You register the bot in Viber under your company's business account; the bot and its subscribers stay yours, and we receive only the access key for it.
  • We check the commercial terms Viber applies to bots since February 2024 and agree with you which message types you will actually use, so there are no surprises later.
  • On the 1С/BAS side we use the open exchange interface the platform builds itself, under a separate user with rights to read orders, balances and invoices and to create orders and requests.
  • We agree how a subscriber proves they are a client: by the phone number they share in the bot, matched to the counterparty in 1С/BAS, and what to do when the phone is not found.
  • We build the bot's keyboards: «my orders», «my balance», «repeat order», «call a manager», and the texts of the status and reminder messages, which you approve.
  • We test with staff as subscribers and a test counterparty in 1С/BAS, then invite real clients to the bot with a link or a QR code on the invoice.

Automation scenarios

01

«Where is my order?» in Viber

Before the client writes to the manager's personal Viber, the manager checks 1С/BAS and replies when they get a moment.

After the client receives the status and tracking number from 1С/BAS the minute the warehouse posts the shipment, without asking.

02

Invoices forgotten until the call

Before the accountant prints the overdue list on Monday and the manager spends the day calling.

After the bot reminds each client in Viber a few days before the due date with the invoice attached, and confirms when 1С/BAS posts the payment.

03

Regular orders dictated by phone

Before a shop orders the same twenty items every week by phone, and the manager types them in from hearing.

After the client presses «repeat last order» in the bot, adjusts the quantity, and the order lands in 1С/BAS as a document.

04

«Send the invoice again»

Before the client asks for the invoice in a chat, the manager asks the accountant, the accountant sends it by mail an hour later.

After the client presses «my balance» and gets the unpaid invoices from 1С/BAS as files, in the same chat.

How it works technically

For those who want to check: each point links to the official documentation page it comes from.

  • The official BAS support portal documents its integration technologies under the title «Технології інтеграції 1С:Підприємства 8.3» — BAS is built on the 1C:Enterprise 8.3 platform.

  • According to the same documentation, the platform automatically builds a REST interface using the OData protocol, through which outside systems can read, change, create and delete data over HTTP.

  • A bot can message a user only after that user has subscribed by writing first; text, images, files, contacts, locations and keyboards with buttons are supported.

  • Viber reports the status of each message — delivered to the device and seen — and every callback is signed with HMAC-SHA256 using the bot token, so the client's server can verify its origin.

  • Since 5 February 2024 Viber bots are created on commercial terms only; a webhook is accepted over HTTPS with a valid certificate; broadcast is limited to 300 subscribed recipients per request.

  • A Viber business account is created to promote goods and services and to communicate with clients directly; the service is operated by Rakuten Viber (Viber Media S.à r.l., Luxembourg).

Limits

The limits come from both systems. The bot can only message people who subscribed to it by writing first, and Viber does not hand out a list of subscribers, so clients have to come to the bot themselves by a link or a QR code. Since February 2024 Viber runs bots on commercial terms, which you agree with Viber directly. A broadcast to many subscribers goes out in batches, not in one go. Balances and statuses are only as fresh as the 1С/BAS data at that moment. 1С/BAS is on the official prohibited software list: we do not take projects for state bodies, critical infrastructure or systems with state data, and with private businesses we discuss the risk openly.

How to start

Three steps from a first message to work on your project.

  1. 01

    Leave a request

Describe the task in the form — in text or by voice. Budget and timing are optional.

  2. 02

    We review and estimate

A developer studies the brief, asks about anything unclear and sends an estimate.

  3. 03

    We start

Once scope and price are agreed, the work begins.

Questions

Can the bot write to a client who has not subscribed?
No: a Viber bot may only message people who wrote to it first. For messages by phone number to anyone, Viber has a separate business messaging service through official providers; that is a different setup and a different agreement with Viber.
How does the bot know which counterparty the subscriber is?
The subscriber shares their phone number in the bot, and we look it up among the counterparties in 1С/BAS. If it is not found, the bot offers to leave a request, and the manager links the person to the right counterparty by hand.
Will the bot see whether the client read the reminder?
Yes: Viber reports delivered and seen statuses for bot messages, and we write them to the request in 1С/BAS, so the manager knows whether to call or to wait.
Our clients are in both Viber and Telegram. One bot or two?
Two bots on the client side, one logic in the middle: both take orders, statuses and balances from the same 1С/BAS, and the client picks the messenger they use. See our 1С/BAS ↔ Telegram page for the second one.
