Close integration & automation

Built-for-calling sales CRM — with a notification channel that keeps retrying for three days if a system on the other end goes quiet

Close is built around the sales call — dialing, tracking and follow-up live in one place, tied to the deal. When something changes on a deal or contact, Close can notify your other systems the moment it happens, and if a system on the receiving end goes quiet, it keeps retrying for up to three days rather than giving up right away.

What we connect

  • The moment something changes on a deal or contact, Close can notify your other systems right away, instead of them constantly checking back in.
  • If a system on the receiving end doesn't respond, Close doesn't just drop the notification — it keeps trying again, spacing the attempts further apart, for up to three days.
  • If deliveries keep failing for three days straight, or too many notifications pile up unanswered, the whole channel pauses itself and has to be turned back on by hand — it won't quietly resume on its own.
  • If a notification was missed for any reason, the last 30 days of activity can still be pulled back through the history, so nothing has to be reconstructed by hand.
  • Calls, contacts and deals sync with your other systems either through a scripted connection or a sign-in built for people, whichever fits how your team works.

Automation scenarios

01

A deal status changes while another system is down

Before the update simply never arrives, and nobody notices until a manager double-checks manually.

After Close keeps retrying the notification for up to three days, spacing attempts further apart each time, so a short outage on the other end doesn't lose the update.

02

Notifications pile up faster than the other system can handle

Before an overloaded connection keeps quietly losing notifications with nobody the wiser.

After admins get a warning once the backlog passes 80,000 events, well before the channel pauses itself at 100,000 — there's time to react before anything is dropped.

03

The notification channel gets paused

Before assuming the connection quietly fixes itself and comes back on its own.

After knowing it stays off until someone turns it back on by hand, we check and reactivate it as part of routine maintenance, rather than waiting for a client to notice missing updates.

04

A missed notification needs to be recovered

Before a gap in the data is a mystery, with no way to tell what actually happened on Close's side.

After the last 30 days of activity can be pulled from the history and replayed into the other system, closing the gap without guesswork.

How it works technically

For those who want to check: each point links to the official documentation page it comes from.

  • Close has a public REST API — authenticated either with API keys for scripts or OAuth 2.0 for user-facing connections — plus real-time change notifications and a separate interface built for AI agents.

  • Failed change-notification deliveries are retried with an interval that grows exponentially, up to every 20 minutes, and Close keeps trying for up to 72 hours before giving up.

  • A notification subscription is automatically paused and its queue cleared once 100,000 events are backlogged, or every delivery has failed for three days straight.

  • A paused subscription has to be reactivated manually — Close doesn't resume deliveries automatically once it's stopped.

  • If an application needs to reprocess events it missed, it can pull them from a history log covering up to the last 30 days.

Limits

Admins get a warning once the backlog passes 80,000 events — before the hard pause kicks in at 100,000. There's no published limit on ordinary API request volume itself, only on this notification queue.

How to start

Three steps from a first message to work on your project.

  1. 01

    Leave a request

Describe the task in the form — in text or by voice. Budget and timing are optional.

  2. 02

    We review and estimate

A developer studies the brief, asks about anything unclear and sends an estimate.

  3. 03

    We start

Once scope and price are agreed, the work begins.

Questions

What happens if a notification fails to deliver?
Close retries it automatically, spacing attempts further apart each time, for up to three days before giving up.
Can the notification channel just stop working without warning?
It pauses itself only after 100,000 events pile up or three straight days of failed deliveries — and admins are warned already at 80,000, so there's time to react first.
Does a paused channel turn itself back on?
No — it has to be reactivated by hand; Close won't quietly resume deliveries on its own.
What if we missed something while the channel was down?
The last 30 days of activity are still available in the history, so a missed update can be pulled and replayed instead of being lost for good.
