Teamleader Focus integration & automation

CRM, projects and invoicing in one system — built to be connected by developers, not dragged and dropped

Teamleader Focus keeps a company's contacts, deals, projects and invoices under one roof. Its connection interface is built for developers rather than a no-code toolbox, so we build the link to your other systems ourselves, or install one of the ready-made connections other companies have already published for other customers to use.

What we connect

  • Contacts, deals, projects and invoices can be pushed to or pulled from your other systems, so the same record doesn't have to be typed in twice.
  • Ready-made connections built by other companies are listed in Teamleader's public catalog — where one already exists for your other system, we can use it instead of building from zero.
  • Where no ready-made connection exists, we build a custom one through Teamleader's developer-facing interface — it's designed for exactly that, not for quick no-code setup.
  • A new connection can be checked on a separate test account first, on request, so it doesn't touch real client records while it's still being built.
  • Every connection today runs on the current version of Teamleader's interface — the older one was fully switched off in August 2024, so there's no outdated fallback quietly left running in the background.

Automation scenarios

01

A deal is won in Teamleader

Before someone copies the client and deal details into an invoicing or warehouse tool by hand, often the next day.

After a built connection pushes the same record into that other system automatically, the moment the deal closes.

02

The team needs Teamleader linked to a tool it already uses

Before nobody knows whether a ready connection for that tool already exists, so the search starts from scratch.

After we check Teamleader's public catalog first — if another company has already published a connection for it, we use that instead of coding one from zero.

03

A new connection is being built

Before testing a new connection risks touching real client cards and orders while it's still unfinished.

After Teamleader can open a separate test account on request, so the connection is checked safely before it's switched on for live data.

04

An old connection was built on Teamleader's previous interface

Before a connection built years ago on the old interface quietly lost the ability to create or update records once Teamleader moved it into a read-only stage.

After we rebuild it on the current interface, so it creates, updates and deletes records fully again, and doesn't just stop working without warning when the old version is switched off for good.

How it works technically

For those who want to check: each point links to the official documentation page it comes from.

  • Teamleader Focus offers a public API built for developers and engineers comfortable writing custom-coded connections, rather than a no-code interface.

  • Ready-made connections that other companies have built can be published in Teamleader's public Marketplace catalog, where any customer can use them.

  • On 1 August 2024, Teamleader fully discontinued the old version of its API (v1) and moved every client onto API v2.

  • Before the full shutdown, API v1 went through an 'active deprecation' stage starting 1 June 2024, during which it could only read existing data — not create, update or delete it.

  • For a complex connection, Teamleader can provide a separate test account on request, sent to its developer contact address.

Limits

Teamleader doesn't offer a no-code automation builder — every connection is either a ready-made one from its public catalog or something built through its developer-facing API. The vendor's own documentation doesn't publish a numeric request-rate limit, so we size connections conservatively and watch for throttling in practice.

How to start

Three steps from a first message to work on your project.

  1. 01

    Leave a request

Describe the task in the form — in text or by voice. Budget and timing are optional.

  2. 02

    We review and estimate

A developer studies the brief, asks about anything unclear and sends an estimate.

  3. 03

    We start

Once scope and price are agreed, the work begins.

Questions

Does Teamleader have ready-made connections we can just switch on?
Some, yes — built by other companies and listed in Teamleader's public catalog. Anything not already there gets built individually through its developer interface.
Can a new connection be tested before it touches real client data?
Yes — Teamleader can open a separate test account on request, so a new connection is checked there first, before it's switched on for live records.
What happened to the old way of connecting to Teamleader?
It was fully retired on 1 August 2024. Anything still running on it has to move to the current version — there's no fallback left.
Is connecting Teamleader a quick drag-and-drop setup?
No — its interface is built for developers writing custom-coded connections, not a no-code toolbox, so we build or adapt the link for you rather than you configuring it yourself.
